Endodontist made 3 attempts to remove silver point by troughing and placing ‘paste’.
Patient didn’t want to give up so…
FRVP nd:YAG 100us 180 mj 20hz
placed next to silver point, directed into trough. Laser fired 2x for total of 50J. Hemostat applied to silver point and rotated. Silver point removed.[img]https://www.laserdentistryforum.com/attachments/upload/mp2.JPG[/img]
Pt referred back to endodontist who finished endo. Sorry endodontist still uses film and I can’t scan or I’d post his final.
Like DAvid said in his erbium posts… been awhile so it was time to post and this happened to be something a little different.

Did he “trough” with a bur or a piezo scaler? Was this an endodontist who received speciality treatment in the United States? Thanks for posting the settings; I used the P-lase along with a piezo to remove a Dentatus post from a distal molar root. It was actually a very beneficial procedure not only to the patient but to me as well; the post was so big I was able to take it home and screw down a piece of decking that had curled up in the sun.
AnonymousGuestNot sure what he troughed with but I’ve referred to this guy for forever and he keeps up to date and is very good.
BTW, I see you got the password. I just sent it to you. I was on a plane to Florida this morning, so I could find some of that sun, and got busy fishing right away as I watched my neighbor reel in a baby tarpon (about 30 lbs).Just got the internet up and running now, sorry for the delay.
