Hi there: off to bed but havent posted in a while any cases so I thought I would just submit something simple.

Patient had some old stained class Vs with recurrent decay that I removed with erbium yag without anesthetic at 30 Hz and 105-160 mj. Patient didnt feel anything at all and I replaced them with Point 4 flowable.

I also removed the facial decalcification on the one central but boy did it ever discolor when I was doing it.
This often does happen on decalcified or mottled enamel. I used a small bur to remove the stain and placed the resin on the tooth.

Simple case , no anesthetic and a happy patient able to eat dinner………

Lovely win win for all involved.

How come you used a bur and where exactly was it utilized? Number #9 maxillary left central?

Hi Al: Yes I used it on the decalcification on the #9 as when I used the laser it got all sorts of brown and black spots on it (this often happens on decalcified enamel) and then used the bur to remove the spots prior to final restoration.

    Thanks buddy……
