Glenn van AsSpectatorWell folks I am going to be taking some self imposed time off for a little sabbatical.
I think that I have learned alot from some of the cases I have posted but I right now for a variety of reasons feel that a little time off may be good.
I am going to be president of AMED next year and also have a ton of international travel coming up in the next 6 months so I will be gone alot.
I hope that some of the cases I have shown have helped you learn a little of how to avoid problems you might encounter when using the laser, and also I hope that in some of the cases there has been some good.
I am working on some projects for Hoya and also a book so in time hopefully there will be some teaching material that is around for those of you who feel I might have something positive to add.
Its been fun ride being the 8th person to sign up here in September of 2002, and for almost all of the last two years I have enjoyed learning in this forum.
I will still check around every once in a while and want to thank Ron and others for their friendship and interest in lasers.
Good luck to those of you marching on into lasers and continued success to those of you already using them.
ALl the best,
Glenn
kellyjblodgettdmdSpectatorSomething tells me you’ll be back! Best of luck Glenn. I have greatly appreciated your contributions, particularly your enthusiasm and humor. You’re a great guy!

BenchwmerSpectatorHey L’Ase,
You at least have to lurk and say nice things about my cases.
Thanks for all the cases, the examples, the thought, the time, the voice of reason.
Keep in touch.
Jeff
N8RVSpectatorGlenn, best of luck. We’ll all miss your insightful postings and considerate challenges. Do what you gotta do, but return to us soon and refreshed!
(I’m gonna use my lasers as bookends until he comes back …) 🙂

Dan MelkerSpectatorThough we have had differences of opinion, you certainly are an awesome Dentist. You need to be on this forum. Your contributions have been boundless for the Dentists on this forum!
You will be back because your heart is in quality Dentistry and teaching others.
Sorry for our oil and water relationship, but frankly you taught me quite abit about the use of the LASER.
Thank you for your incredible time and effort you have put in advancing the knowledge of lasers.

whitertthSpectatorDear Glen,
Having learned from/with you for a while I for sure will miss your posts.  While I hope u really are leaving for the right reasons, I kinda have a a small feeling that  the tone of both DT and this board has changed slightly since the good ole days…..I for one have felt that but that kinda comes infortunately with growth….I dont like it either  but it is here…That being said I  for one hope u reconsider and continue posting with the same enthusiasm that u have had since early on…Laser users/students/colleagues would really be missing alot if u stopped sharing….My suggestions would be ignore the naysayers and continue pushing forward to new frontiers always pushing the envelope in the better interest  on dentistry and patient health…
Warmest Regards,
Your friend,
Ron(Edited by whitertth at 2:30 pm on July 1, 2004)
Dan MelkerSpectatorGlenn and to those that follow Glenn,
Get back on this website. Oil and water, that is the 2 of us! Hey but I have learned alot from you. Let’s move on. Those of you that know Glenn should call him personally and get him back on this site.
Glenn, I want you back! You taught me alot about what the laser can do. We do not agree on everything and we probably would make a great team. Whatever!
Get back here so I can continue to learn!
Ron-get on the phone
Mark, Jeff bring back the laser leader!
Danny
AnonymousGuestDanny,
I have contacted Glenn and wished him well (as I’m sure many others have).
If anyone should get on the phone, it is the author of the private messages that drove him away. Those private messages were about as different as Jeckyl and Hyde when it comes to Online Personna vs. Private Message Personna.
Contrary to the ‘old sticks and stones’, words cut deeply, the wounds won’t be so easily repaired, and as a result we will suffer a great loss at LDF.
2thlaserSpectatorRon,
I too have contacted Glenn, and sent letters. I have the same response as yours, so I won’t go into details, and yes, Jeckyll and Hyde seems appropriate, AND words DO cut deeply, especially when you might not have even MET a person. Easy to hide behind a keyboard sometimes isn’t it?I wish Glenn all the best, and I support him in his efforts to move laser dentistry into the forefront of our profession. It’s men like him, (like GV Black once was) that get the arrows, I have many as well, but still perservere, which in the end, will change our profession for the good.
Glenn, all my best!
Mark
Dan MelkerSpectatorTo Glenn and those of you who have built this forum successfully,
I have been not respectful of the knowledge on this forum. I do not use a laser and really have no business giving opinions. It would be unfair for a leader such as Glenn to keep his knowledge to himself because of my rudeness.
I should never have rendered subjective statements on this forum. I would have been best simply to read threads and learn.
Hopefully, Glenn will realize that is was one individual that caused aggravation for him and not posting would be unfair to the other 900 participants.
This Laser Forum has a great deal to offer to both long time users and those just starting. Glenn, as a LEADER you owe it to your loyal peers to keep posting.
Again, I apologize to you, that is all one can do, hope you will be a bigger person than I was and start updating the forum on your continued superb treatment.
