How does the laser actually effect pain relief with oral ulcers, ie what is the mechanism of action. Are we destroying nerve endings, creating a coagulum type bandaid? Anyone with any laser , thanks?
Yeah, pretty much. In addition, heat photons dentaure proteins, certain wavelengths biomodulate unmylenated c-fibers by changing the cell membrane’s permeability to Ca and K, perhaps. N-IR lasers reduce the inflammatory response, by interferring with the Arachodonic cascade, hence reduceing the bradykinines and cytokines, which themselves are heat labile……..just some of my thoughts from my readings over the years.
