AlbodmdSpectatorAfter initially deciding on a Waterlase, I’ve changed my mind and decided to buy a Delight from Hoya Conbio. First let me say I think both lasers are great. What one laser can do, the other one can pretty much do. It’s like getting either a Mercedes or a BMW, can’t really go wrong with either one. Decision between them is a personal preference.
I talked to the reps, tested both lasers and talked to users of each. One thing that was helpful was talking to people who owned both lasers. The reasons I went with the Delight are that I liked the delivery system better, more flexible cord, quieter, and it was cheaper. Sorry I won’t be in the Waterlase fraternity, but I’m looking at it as joining the laser club.

ASISpectatorHi Albert,
Welcome to the laser forum.
Good for you in your decision to get into laser dentistry.
I like the Delight for those same reasons and more.
Andrew
Kenneth LukSpectatorHi Albert,
Just like you, the decision is Waterlase or DElight.
After talking to a lot of users, I think I’ll go for the DElight too.Ken
AlbodmdSpectatorAndrew,
Great pic! My Delight didn’t come with the Laser Girls, you got a great deal. My wife probably wouldn’t have let me buy it with that combo anyways. I’m looking forward to learning from everyone here. Are the Laser Girls at all the training meetings? 😉Ken,
I’m very comfortable with my decision. One guy who would be good to talk to is Dr. William Greider. He used to speak for Waterlase and he has experience with the Waterlase, the Delight, and Opus’s laser. Very nice guy. Try to test them side by side if you can.
Best of luck.

Kenneth LukSpectatorThanks Albert!
I’ll have a trial with the Waterlase for a week.
Then attend the Conbio course in Sept.
My mind has probably set on DElight already.
Ken
ASISpectatorHi Albert,
Thanks for the comments.
I like your website. Who are you working with on the development and support of the site?
Andrew
AlbodmdSpectatorAndrew,
Actually I made my website myself. Took a long time and lots of learning of Frontpage software. It’s constantly a work in progress and I’m always playing with it. I’m going to have to work on it now to add some laser stuff. Anyone know where I can find some cool dental laser graphics?
Regards,
Al B
Kenneth LukSpectatorHi all,
Just curious,
Does anyone has problems with the DElight?
Ken
phoneySpectatorAlbert talk to your laser manufacturer about the graphics. When we were doing our yellow page add Waterlase gave us permission to use their graphics, much better than anything I could find anywhere else
marc andre gagnonSpectatorI USE DELIGHT SINCE 2 YEARS AND I HAD NO PROBLEM AT ALL WITH TAHT LASER.I JUST OPEN IT EACH MORNING AND I NEVER ASK QUESTION ABOUT IT.IT RUN ALL DAY LONG EASILY.I NEVER GOT PROBLEM WITH THE FIBER.
LeostibermanSpectatorFirst of all. Nice to meet you all. I´m Dr. Leo Stiberman from Buenos Aires (Argentina) and the first laser user in my country.
I began my experience in 1997 with the Centauri from Premier Laser Systems and as a pioneer and a lecturer in South America I had the oportunity to know and try every laser machines in the market (Kavo, Fotona, Waterlase, Delight).
I changed to Conbio (Delight) in 2000 and since then I hadn´t had any problem with the unit.
It works very good and the fiber is very friendly. The only limitation that I found is in very small cavities is difficult to go into them because of the width of the tip head. Does somebody had that problem ?
Best regards to everybody, congratulations for this web forum, and finally, sorry for my poor english.
AlbodmdSpectatorGreetings Dr. Stieberman,
Nice to have another longtime Delight user on board. Have you tried the 400 micron tips for the occlusals? They’re smaller and really great for occlusals.
Regards,
Al B
ASISpectatorHi Leo,
Welcome to the forum.
Your English needs no apology.
I find that if it is a very narrow prep, the judicial use of handpiece to open up a little more for access of the laser tip will help.
Andrew
marc andre gagnonSpectatorgood choice I tried the two lasers 2 years ago and my choice was delight. You can be sure that it’s a good machine .I had no problem with the delight since the beginning
