I just bought the delight laser and I am starting to line up patients.  My laser should be here this week.  Is this a good starter case to try?

    Hi,

Nice photo of the pre-op. This should not pose as a problem for the use of the DELight or any erbium lasers. As any will do the preparation for you well if you are planning to retore with composite resin.

But I am more concerned about the other parameters, such as the depth and opaqueness of the hypoplasia, the translucency of the incisal aspect, the amount of tooth bulk in the area, the gingival asymmetry, and the expectation of the patient, that may pose as a cosmetic challenge.

Good luck and welcome to the exciting world of laser dentistry.

    Thanks Andrew,
I too was concerned about the translucency and depth of hypoplasia. As far as the gingival asysmetry, what would you recommend to a pedodontist who is use to seeing gum tissue move around all day. By the way, this patient is the adult sister of one of my assistants. She heard I was looking for ginny pigs and volunteered. If it was not for me needing the practice, I would never treat this case. Just want to make sure I do the right thing.
