Kenneth LukSpectatorHi Mark,
Very nice op! Where is the entrance please?
I wish I could ceiling mount my mic. not possible as the ceiling is very high!
One benefit i have is that there is no need for air line as the erbium has a built in compressor.
I like very much the plasma screen. this is what I have in mind also. 42inches?ken
2thlaserSpectatorHi Ken,
The photo is taken from the entrypoint. My ceilings are actually 12 feet. Had to have small extension added to the pole, but no problems. The Plasma is 42″ NEC, HiDefinition. I have a high def camera set up with a feed to another plasma in another room as well. The high definition is way cool. Unbelievably real. Only better would be 3D.Ron…ask Wayne!
Mark
Glenn van AsSpectatorHey Mark…..couple of questions. What brand of High def did you go with. Have you got a bigger picture of your operatory setup with the plasma screen as I want to send this to my rep to talk about hooking that up in my op.
Please find a copy of my operatory and I want to put the plasma screen up high where the pink blinds are to replace the TV there. The Versawave goes right behind the Argon laser against the wall (not where you see it for the photo) and I move it in and out of the way for the patient. It is simple to move it back and forth.
Hope all is well and again let me know about the video camera but you can see alot of the equipment we have in the office but its not like that now as I need to build one op like Mark has.
One problem with how I practice now is that I have gotten into a dreadful habit of doing one tooth at a time and I am swamped. Now I am slowly trying to get into doing more dentistry on less patients.
Hope all is well………cya
Glenn

Kenneth LukSpectatorHi Mark,
Is the HD camera built -in ? Do you have problem with the camera being off center as compare with direct viewing through the mic ?
I am trying out to take photo with a JVC 3CCD camera.
Pretty off centered. Here it is.

Glenn van AsSpectatorThe video camera may be on your non dominant side for vision. Switch it over to the other side as long as the beamsplitter will allow it and the amount of light is the same coming out of the other side (ie 50/50 on both sides where 50% of the light comes out to your eyes and 50% goes to the camera).
I dont believe its the camera but most likely it is your dominant eye (the one that controls the position horizontally of your vision ) is not on the same side as the camera.
Check out your dominant eye by staring at a distant spot (say a light switch). Now close one eye and stare at the switch . Did it move………if so then you closed your dominant eye. If not then you are staring at the image with your dominant eye……
If you see only black……you are a dummy and closed BOTH eyes!!
GRIN

dkimmelSpectatorGlenn.Glenn , Glenn..
One tooth at a time?? Dude just treatment plan it have the front make the $ arrangement and just do it!!!!! Make it so.. Life will be much better!!
Kenneth LukSpectatorHi Glenn,
My right eye is the dominant one and the camera is set on the left. You are spot on !
I did try closing both eyes and you were spot on too ! I see black!
However, when the camera is switched to video mode , the off center problem was not noticed.
It’s a JVC GZ-MC500
photo 500meg/pix ; video: microdrive 4G
The video quality is good but it’s autofocus.
Ken
Glenn van AsSpectatorCool stuff Ken…….glad that the photo problem is solved. I think the video is different in the way it is set up in the camera. It only takes from the center portion of the camera usually.
In any event I am glad that the photo thing is solved. In addition, is your camera a 3 chip or high def camera.
Mark are you shooting in high def mode. If so how does it look on a laptop or in a presentation of yours.
Thanks
Glenn
Kenneth LukSpectatorGlenn,
It’s 3CCD, not hi def.
JVC has a newer model with 30G HHD , external battery for longer recording and less heat. Mine has a battery within so it runs out after 1 hr and hot to handle.
There’s a new Sony high def 1080i, I like that too!
Ken
Kenneth LukSpectatorGlenn,
Heard that Sony will introduce Hi def with HDD early next yr.
I’ve finalised on the operatory layout and work is underway. Will post you the photo when the job’s done.
Thank you all for sharing your advises and showing me your op set up.
Ken
2thlaserSpectatorHey guys,
I am shooting in HiDef, with the Sony HC3 1080i camera…how do you say unbelievable? Glenn, in presentations, its incredible detail. Even with the lower resolutions of the projectors, it still is unbeatable…Best move, next to buying the scope, and laser I have made. Wish I could show some footage here…oh the constraints of the internet!Mark

Hey guys,
Wish I could show some footage here…oh the constraints of the internet!Mark
Mark, email me a minute or two of the video. I think I can encode it and stream it off the server.
2thlaserSpectatorOk Ron, I have to travel tomorrow and back Saturday, so I will try asap. The files are large, but we will see what happens. I will try to find something cool, and edit down to the time frame. Thanks!!!!!
Mark
Kenneth LukSpectatorHi guys,
