whitertthSpectatorWe did this procedure today, so no post op yet….Waterlase T-4 soft tissue tip .75 watt 15 air 11 water…DRK Liquid placed first for 4 minutes chocolate flavor…here is where it gets a lil differnt…You will see a white power (DRKBANDADGE) a polyox powder that has tetracycline, and Vitamin K inside…helps clotting and the antibiotic dosent hurt…The last slide you will see a blueish liquid over the powder…This is Glustitch, a cyanoacrylate like product which I now place…It helps in clotting, and also retards healing slightly, preventing relapse of the frenum..I got one that relapsed last month and use this now and they heal great The few drops of blood in the last pic were wiped off as the patient left and she left without any bleeding at all….Just a little different way to do this…Hope u enjoy….

whitertthSpectatorsorry about the picture size…new phot editing program and I havent played with it enough yet…
Glenn van AsSpectatorHi Ron……neat pics. Someone was mentioning that cyanoacrylate was commonly used for peridontal dressing and replacement for sutures but then there were some adverse effects reported (cant remember what it was now) and it is not used as widely now anymore in dentistry. Anyone know anything about this.
Nice photos , were they taken through the scope?
Ron one thing I try to do on these frenectomy cases is pull laterally on the lip to see how the attachment pulls.
In your second photo, I think the release of the fibers looks good (the bleeding tells me that it is cut through the last of the fibers somewhere and into the periosteum which bleeds) but I think that there could have been slightly more release on the mesial (see how tight it looks there…….)
Neat stuff about the bandage and your thought processes are interesting. I would be interested to compare healing on some of your cases with the bandage and without…….The bandage will definitely prevent food impaction and pain in those cases where the patient loves spicy foods!!
Good stuff……..ps what editing programis this.
Glenn
whitertthSpectatorThanks for the kind words Glenn…
I see what u mean about the mesial aspect…I think it is just the angle of the photo but I could be wrong as I dont see it in the next photo with the powder in place…I have used the powder for a while with great success the cyanoacrylate is fairly new byt I just saw a post op today 5 days and it looks great…I will try and post later..
The editing program is acdsee
Glenn van AsSpectatorI use ACDSee as well and most of my collages are done in Fotoslate which is an offshoot of that.
The program is simple and cost effective
Nice stuff.
