I thought this was a fun case. A patient came in with his veneer from #10 in his hand. As it turns out, recurrent caries at the gingivo-facial of #10 caused the cement to fail. Using a T4 tip I created a “sulcus” and removed the recurrent caries. I then placed a G4 tip and removed the old composite cement. With the laser I was able to see as the old cement lifted off, removing as little tooth as possible. We then recemented using Nexxus. The patient was VERY happy!!!

Very Very neat Kelly…….nice layout and you did your patient a huge service.

Kelly is this an intraoral camera, have you thought about getting a Canon G5 or a SLR. With the kind of stuff you are doing you should really get a higher resolution camera. YOu have some really good cases to present and the IOC will not hold up on a big screen.

If you need any advice (I dont get any kickbacks for camera suggestions!!)…..just ask

    Cya and again …….nice case.

Thanks, Glenn. I actually do have a Coolpix 5000. I was just in too much of a hurry this morning to go get it. My microscope just arrived today!!! I can’t wait to get it set up. Unfortunately, I have to wait til next week to do the install. Once it’s installed, I’ll be posting much better, more detailed pictures. Thanks for all the helpful hints, Glenn. I appreciate them very much. Talk to you soon.

Kelly : Clap clap clap……..on the scope.

If you find that it has a learning curve email me as I have produced a DVD on positioning that I am selling for 199.00 USD

Let me know if I can help you out with anything with it.

Take care buddy and great stuff on the scope. I am proud of you.

Yes Stu, I am almost sure it will hook up to the Global microscope and the Xmount adapter.

The Xmount adapter will not hook up to the Seiler scope at present and you will have to ask Stefan if he can hook that camera up independently.

All the best, and I will ask Eric tonight about that camera and the Xmount.

If you want to know more about the Xmount, check out

Thanks, David! It’s too late, though. I just got my Zeiss microscope installed last week. I’ve got to say – it is changing my approach to dentistry – it’s incredible what you can see with the Microscope. Now I just need to figure out how to take really good pictures so I can post them like Glenn.

Hi Guys……..I have been busy lecturing and just got back online.

Thanks for the kudos…….just had a nice couple from Calgary in the office yesterday morning who could not believe as well how much easier it was to work with the scope on extracted teeth with the lasers and see exactly how far away from the tooth you were.

It is really tough without magnification to use the lasers.

If you havent got loupes ……..get a 2.5X set.
If you have got 2.5X loupes look at a scope or 4X loupes.

If you have 4X or more look at a scope. Ask Mark Colonna, I spent some time with him at the ADA and he uses 6.0 X loupes all day ( I dont know if he goes home with them on, I didnt want to go there!!) and he was impressed by the lighting and the mag of the scopes.

Yes it is an investment and yes it has a learning curve but its fun and will take your laser dentistry to a whole new level.

The couple from Calgary asked about the pics………its only the scope that allows me to get so close to the tooth………..

Take care folks and its not my secret mission to convert you all over to scope lovers…….JUST DAVID KIMMEL…….
