I have the same question only more for SRP. We use it for mild cases or if someone can’t afford LANAP. It has always been coded as 4341 but we charged a premium for using the laser which was out of pocket for the pt. My question is, could 4240 be used when using the laser as an adjunct to SRP? That code refers to a flap being “reflected or resected”. Isn’t ablation of gingival tissue a form of resection? Any opinions on this question would be appreciated.
