Glenn
Kenneth LukSpectatorHi Glenn,
Any discounts on your DVD for forum members?;)
Ken
Glenn van AsSpectatorHi Ken: Thanks for the interest and I will tell you what I am prepared to do…….
The introductory price for the meeting in Scottsdale is 149 dollars but after Scottsdale it will be 199 USD but I am prepared to support Ron Schalter and the LDF by providing 20 dollars or 10% from each DVD sold to the LDF for promotion of their web site and support of the server etc.
Is that fair ??
I will provide you with the post I made on Dental Town below to give you some idea of the costs that I have provided for the DVD so far……its around 20 thousand in production costs etc……..
Hope that is ok and I tried to be fair. as I know that one Laser DVD out there is around 250.00 USD so I tried to be fair with it.
I honestly just want to make my money back, and I havent got a dime from any companies yet for this venture even though I have put Globals logo on the DVD, I havent received anything from them yet……
All the best.
Glenn and below is my post on Dental Town
Hi folks: I am off to Scottsdale for the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry Meeting which takes place from Nov 6-8th.
I have released just for the Academy meeting my DVD which is around 90 mins long and has 5 parts to it.
1. Introduction
2. Microscope Basics
3.Clinical Tips
4. 5 key factors to viewing the operating field
5. Individual quadrants viewed through the scope and from outside.
These views are broken up into segments including
Maxillary Anterior
Mandibular Anterior
Maxillary Right posterior
Mandibular Right posterior
Maxillary Left posterior
Mandibular Left Posterior.
I have piled ALOT of my own cash into this venture and am just trying to make my money back from the whole endeavor. I need to sell about 100 just to make my money back so you can see this isnt a money making venture for me.
I am selling them at 199.00 US dollars PLUS SHIPPING…….. of which I will contribute 10% or 20 US dollars from each DVD directly sold through Dental Town towards the March meeting or to Dental Town, whichever Howard feels he would like me to contribute too..
I honestly mean this, I just want to make my money back on this venture and hopefully educate some people along the way.
I dont want to clog up Dentaltown with personal sales pitch but am trying to contribute back to this forum, that has helped me become a better dentist and person.
I will include a 40 page handout of my lectures on positioning with the DVD for you.
One of the cool things with a DVD is that you can easily nagivate through the menu to whatever you want to see so if you are in the office having a problem viewing the upper left, then you can jump to that segment and see it.
I had a young guy do all the video for me so it looks somewhat professional (there are still the odd glitch in there) but I am pretty proud of the final product and dont think that there is anything like it on the market.
I will take orders starting Monday next week and you can send me orders at
glennvanas@shaw.ca or call me next week at work at 604 985 1232
I will try and post images from the DVD and get a web page up and running for you to get more information on it but I just got the master copy today and am rushing out the door.
The units will start shipping next week. Please , tell me where you heard about the DVD so that I can send the unit out and remimburse Roots for anyone who found out about it here.
For anyone going to the AMED meeting, there will be a special show price so come see me at the show, and I have a small booth there.
Thanks folks and again I apologize for the sales pitch in advance, and I promise to NOT promote it on Dental town in the future but I wanted to try and help educate docs to using the scope and in addition also help DT out in a small way if I could.
I hope Howard doesnt mind…. and perhaps we can put a link up to the DVD when I get a web page for it….
PS if anyone knows of a good way to set up a small web site for the DVD let me know.
Check back in with you all next week.
Cya and thanks
Glenn
dkimmelSpectatorMark, I’ve got the lighting taken care of. 2000 Watts each for a total of 4000 watts. Gets a bit warm but I don’t even need a curing light.
I cannot wait to hear you and Glenn lecture at the ALD! It sould be fun. Ask Sameer what I did to Michael in COZ during his lecture!David

Glenn, I emailed you with an alternate idea. Thanks for the offer.
When you get back email me about the website(what you want- shopping cart or email form response, etc.), I can give you some guidence.
Good Luck w/ the lecture,
BNelsonSpectatorMark
I’ve tried my Intel PLAY too, but find the lighting too low also. Like the idea of the BIG bulbs. Tanning salon and dentistry- great idea. -
