Dennis W ClarkSpectatorI bought the PerioLase MVP-7 in September of 2002. After the Boot camp, I started doing LPT right away and it has grown to be my largest single prtoduction item – 14% of my production. I have done over 80 quads in less than 9 months and the production has now exceeded the cost of the laser! It’s all profit from here! No lab fees. Happy, comfortable patients, who refer friends and family. Next week, I am seeing the husband of a lady who came to Oregon from Colorado for LPT. She saw an article in Woman’s World, called Millennium for a referral and now she is bringing her husband and sister. This is real exciting! Who wants to retire?
All that is not to mention all the other things I use it for every day, on almost every patient. I almost need another!
AnonymousInactiveDennis,
That is really great. As I recall, one of your concerns in the beginning was that your area and patient base was so small you were worried that the PerioLase package wouldn’t pay for itself. That is a terrific testimonial!!!
Kenneth LukSpectatorHi Dennis,
What is the charge per quadrant with LPT?
Don’t patients come in for 2 visits ( treating one side at each visit)?
I still have to save up for my Periolase!
Ken
Dennis W ClarkSpectatorI don’t come here too often – I charge from 650-925/quad. One side at a sitting/ one week apart.
In 2003 , I produced an additional 65, 000 doing LPT !!
This year was slow otherwise. So this was a significant contribution!!!!
kellyjblodgettdmdSpectatorDennis – I am in Portland, and have multiple wavelengths of lasers in my office, but no Periolase. I have spoken with Bob and Del about it and I know I will buy it someday. Truthfully, I have been putting it off using finances as an excuse, but after reading your testimonial, I’m ready to buy. If it can work in Lebanon, I’m sure it will work in Portland. Way to raise the bar!

Kenneth LukSpectatorHi Kelly.
Just like you, I’m still sitting planning for my Periolase. I’m still owrking on perio cases with my 980 ( knowing full well that I need a Periolase real soon ).How’s your brother doing with his 980 on perio?
Ken
BNelsonSpectatorDon’t wait any longer. Of all the dental equipment I have purchased that were supposed to give a good ROI the Periolase is the only one that paid for itself in less than a year. I put mine on a credit card (low interest) in March and it was paid off by December.
Smiles!
kellyjblodgettdmdSpectatorKen – sorry I didn’t see this post. Kris loves his 980, but he’s not doing a ton of perio with it. I think that mostly he’s using in conjunction with his CEREC for heme controll, etc. He’s also well aware of the benefits of the Periolase and as he has said, “Kelly, I’ll let you do the legwork. Then I’ll buy!” My suspicion is that he’ll buy one before the year is out. Just a hunch!
It’s great to hear of you guys who are putting the Periolase to such great use. I’m looking forward to picking your brains as I start putting mine to use.
Thanks
Kelly
drnewittSpectatorIs there a Periolase in Canada yet? If not when? Cost? Training?
Robert Gregg DDSSpectatorHi Paul,
We are working on CE Mark and Canadian clearance as we speak. The paperwork is oppresive–the costs not much better.
Haven’t established pricing yet for Canada. (For sure, Glenn will be charged double regardless–just because………;) 😉 )
Training at first will be in Cerritos, California until we have a designated/certified/qualified trainer in Canada. We are going through the trainer qualifications, requirements and certifications in the US right now. We are standardizing the training that takes place outside MDT. Dr. Paul Silver is our Senior Instructor that oversees instructor candidate calibration.
