Glenn van AsSpectatorHi there: I am trying to do more quadrant dentistry for patients and here is a classic case of please get rid of the old tired silver fillings.
I did core buildups with resin (laser assisted) and then noticed a small fibroma forming where I had relatively recently extracted the third molar.
I removed it with the erbium laser, soft tissue tip 30 hz and 80 mj without water. Then to get deeper ( I could feel fibers still in there) I took a 80 degree tip and it was a 400 micron and placed it in the crater to eradicate the remaining fibers with the same settings.
THe post op shows nice healing on the laser troughing for tissue retraction during the prep phase ( Argon) and also the nice healing of the fibroma which the patient was complaining about her tongue playing with it prior to me removing it during the prep phase…
OK OK now I am off to sleep……

SwpmnSpectatorOIC so that’s where you use the soft tissue tip.
What kind of crowns are those, is that something like Procera or are those porcelain to metal crowns?
Al
Glenn van AsSpectatorI use the soft tissue tip for frenectomies, biopsies.
Procera crowns……..just for something different.
THe 2nd molar was a PFM I think. Thanks Al

ASISpectatorGood work again, Glenn.
Funny how the #44 looks so good and virginal when the ones posterior to it are in such heavily restored condition. But after you are through with them, they look pretty darn good.
Are you finding that you favor the argon over the Diodent for troughing?
Andrew
Glenn van AsSpectatorHi Andrew…….I prefer the diode but I had to send it back and they are resending me a new one.
I had the one from the LVI meeting and they owe me one for all the work that I have done for them lecturing.
I am just waiting for them to finish production on a new batch. Mine was all in the box and then they were short 2 so mine got sent to someone in real need.
I like the diode better than my argon……less shrinkage in my humble hands.
PS thanks for the kind words, and yes it was so weird to see one tooth virginal and the rest filled to the brim like they were.
Glenn
Cya and really the Nd Yag or diode is a better laser for troughing I think than the Argon which chars a little and is a little deeper penetrating.
