I am getting ready to go to boot camp for the periolase and have been wondering about Medical filing for the 4260/1. Anyone have personal experience with this?? There was an old post about this for a service that did this, but I would like to do this in-house if possible. Thanks for the help on my first post.

D4260 Osseous surgery (including flap entry and closure)

Is on the procedure list of claims that can be submitted through IPS

    Chuck,
    Welcometo LDF.
I’m sure there will be alot of questions headed your way.
To start with, can you give us an estimate of what % of D4260 (osseous surgery), submitted thru IPS, receive medical reimbursement?

    Thanks,

I, and several others have been clients of IPS for a year now and the benefits our patients have received has been practically nothing. It is our opinion that we have had to put much more work into filing claims than we were told. We were also not told that claims would not be filed by certain insurance companies (ie Paramount), which had a very negative effect for our patients. I feel we would have been better off filing ourselves.

DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH IPS.

My office has been an IPS “client” for some time. We have had an incredibly small number of claims be successful. In one case the insurance company asked for the money back. We were also contacted by an insurance company and told to stop billing medical.

Our purchase of the IPS software has been the single worst purchase my office has made since opening. We have asked for a refund, yet had no response.

I would recommend that you not get involved with this company.

IF YOU ARE AN IPS CLIENT CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY.

    This is my opinion only.

So how does one go about filing a medical claim on their own???

You need to have practice management software that can print medical claims. I believe the big ones such as Softdent, Eaglesoft, Dentrix can print them…as well as Rose Nierman’s software. You will need to buy the blank medical claim forms and know the medical codes. Speaking from experience…it is another learning curve. Unless you are going to be submitting them frequently….I don’t really think it is worth your time. JMHO…been there, done it…rarely get paid for our time. ;(

    Chuck,

You make it sound so easy. If so, then why does my insurance person spends several hours a week helping your people submit claims. ALso, we can’t even submit slaims b/c since May 10, there seems to be something wrong with your system that won’t allow access. And as usuall, when we call STEVE, or anyone else, they don’t return our calls. Your customer service is horrible, your support even worse, and our patients have not benefitted from the service. In addition, if we had been told by Mark Freeman at the start that all insurance companies are not billed, we would not have subscribed to your service, as Paramount is a big one in OHio.

I also am curious: I “heard” that as your clientele began to grow, the amanagers wanted access to patient accounts and once it was granted, they found ” payments flooding in to accounts not even active, missing EOB’s, insufficient protocols for follow up on claims. When managers adn sales reps brought their issues up, they were locked out of access to patient accounts. they were asked to “cease any and all communication with clients regardign IPS”. Why is this> How can a company operate efficiently with it’s clients if tyou won’t allow the people who want to help access to the accounts?

Shawn, don’t hold your breath waiting for a response from Chuck. We will have to wait quivering in anticipation for another several weeks before he can come back and tell us that it is OUR fault that IPS does not work for us as they claim.

I just want my money back. They took &#364500 for something that has been completely useless to me.

I guess the bottom line must be that I and my staff are so incompetent and lazy that we cannot figure out this easy and successful software system of IPS. Wow…..I had no idea I was such a screwup!
