I had a problem with my waterlase and after discusing this with the technical support in Germany(they were very very helpful) diagnosed the problem as a burnt mirror in the handpiece.
I called the UK company who look after these lasers (Instinctive) and they told me to send them the handpiece. They then called me and said they will charge me &#36750 USD to look at the handpiece and any repairs will be charged extra.
    This seems greatly expensive!
Has anyone got any idea how much this repair should cost in the US?
They offered me a survice contract for &#365500 USD which does not cover the fibre hence I have no contract.

    Thanks for any advice

    Mickey:

Unfortunately the mirrors on the Waterlase do burn out and need refurbishing or replacement. Repair fee you mentioned seems awfully expensive to me but then I’m not a laser manufacturer.

Like you said, a full service contract on the Waterlase that does not cover the optical fiber has questionable value. The company tried that with me once and I just said NO. Maintenance fees on these instruments sometimes make me question the real Return On Investment.

So, my post is probably of no value but at least there are others out there that feel your pain.

    Best Wishes,

    Al

I think Biolase sould offer a service contrsct that includes the fibre and the mirror heads because obveously they have a problem compared to other non companies

    Thanks Al for your support
