    You are right on here. One thing for certain, is that Biolase has figured out a few ways to combat their problem with trunk fibers. I also know, (knocking on wood now), that I haven’t had a problem, same fiber for almost 2 years now, and use the HECK out of my laser DAILY…just think how those LONG LONG LONG, just kidding, crown prep procedures heat up the fiber! Seriously, I have used and abused my laser purposely trying to blow a fiber, with no luck. I give credit where credit is due! Again, to Al, thanks for posting that post, it’s invaluable!

    Great point, Mark. I should have included a time interval for the purge process. If you watch the clear, blue colored water line at the fiber connection port, you can observe water bubbles being pushed back into the irrigation bottle. When no more water bubbles are observed, one may be assured that the handpiece is purged and thus properly dried out.
