I called periolase to get some info and left a message ,but they did not return my call. Are they good with training and support at all?
How much do they sell it for anyway?
Do you know much about Lares laser ?How would you compare it with periolase?

There’s no comparison with Periolase. Again, Periolase is designed for treating Perio and it it great! The support adn training is superior, the best training I have ever had in any piece of equipment that I’ve bought. I was sceptical a first but once a rep came and did a presentation and I did a little homework, I was sold. The cost is aroudn &#3660K for it, don’t let that scare you away. They include training and much more for that. I bought mine a year ago and I have produced/collected enough to cover the investment. If you’re looking to treat Perio, BUY ONE! You won’t regret it.

    hi,
Did you do your research on Lares? What did you get? Did you buy it?

The ErYag is effective at removing pigmentation. I have been treating a friend with a dark tattoo. She had been to a plastic surgeon for 6-7 visits. Each time, the laser treatment resulted in swelling, pain, bleeding, draining. Very messy. She obtained NO results after all that time. The tattoo didn’t get any lighter.

We have used the ErYag (300-400mj and 10Hz) and after three treatments, the tattoo is almost gone. She didn’t get anywhere near the negative post-op problems that she had at the surgeons office.

I really need to get a good camera. I’ve done some interesting things with the CO2 that I would never have touched with a scalpel.
Last week I removed a Lipoma on the lower lip of a pt.  He had it for over two years and nobody ever suggested removing it.  It really bothered him.

    Neatest thing you’ve ever seen.

Made a semilunar incision around periphery, squeezed the lesion and pushed the lipoma upward through the incision, grabbed it with forceps, undermined until removed.  The junction of the lipoma and connective tissue was amazingly clear.  Nice, clean, fast procedure, three sutures… Voila.

I imagine I could have used my ErYag or diode, but they would be messy or slow.

There is ABSOLUTELY no way Lares can do what the Periolase does. Periolase is a laser designed specifically for treating Perio. There is a FDA patented protocol that must be followed to obtain the results. If someone from Lares or any other company is claiming that their system can do what Periolase does, then they are misleading you, and violating patent laws.

No, but why would you go with the Lares and not the Periolase?

What do you want to do with the laser? If it’s periodontal tx, the Lares does not have the FDA clearance or supporting studies that the Periolase has.

    Hey Jerry,
I just got my Periolase and am reading up on “things.” I came across this thread and saw Matt’s name. I started laughing because I was thinking the same thing. How does he find time for all of this?

So how does one go about filing a medical claim on their own???

You need to have practice management software that can print medical claims. I believe the big ones such as Softdent, Eaglesoft, Dentrix can print them…as well as Rose Nierman’s software. You will need to buy the blank medical claim forms and know the medical codes. Speaking from experience…it is another learning curve. Unless you are going to be submitting them frequently….I don’t really think it is worth your time. JMHO…been there, done it…rarely get paid for our time. ;(
